More than three-quarters of Republicans want public schools to teach children that the book of Genesis "explains how God created the world." Unfortunately many rural church's don't always teach this correctly even as their own faith's church leaders believe it. But even then many believe in a literal interpretation. I know that the Catholic Church does not believe Genesis to be completely accurate, especially the time it took. Pope Pius endorsed the Big Bang theory back in the 30's.

There's nothing in that article that we all didn't know. The current GOP is full of right wing extremists. That's the problem. They aren't in it to negotiate and compromise. They are in it to obstruct and to regain power. That isn't leadership. It's an attempt at fascism. Today's GOP are nothing short of the American Taliban. They are religious fanatics that don't believe in science and want to eliminate the opposition, not work with them on a consensus.
