I did buy and read the Alinsky book...Slider ,your post explains the Obama crowds actions perfectly.

I couldn't understand Obama's actions until you put it in the context of "crashing the system"..Geez,this is like watching a slow-motion train wreck..

And to me ,the most disturbing statistics for america's future are-
1) 35% of high school students do NOT graduate.
2) 40% of all births are out-of-wedlock

Ponder the social and economic implications of those numbers.

A lot of those beliefs were very fashionable in the 1930s when he was active. I did my master's on the "Auden Generation" in Britain in the 1930s.

Faced with the apparent collapse of Capitalism, many middle class intelligensia flocked to socialism, only to mostly abandon it in the 1950s

Obama faces re-election just as another huge wave of mortgage resets hits in 2011+, similar in magnitude to 2008. He's done in 34 months, imo
