John:

There is no point in anguishing about what has already happened. Its water over the dam. The question is what to do now?

If S3 had correctly stated their 2nd qtr and 3rd qtr earnings on schedule, I think the stock would still be in the same price range. Obviously, there is a crisis of confidence which the board will have to address. What will they do? I don't have the answer to that. Will S3 make a full accounting on the revenue mistake. I think so.
Will Gary Johnson accept responsibility for the accounting error. Probably. Was it entirely his fault? Probably not. But the buck has to stop somewhere.

I guess I'd like to see more oversight at the top. That would be a good start. IR really needs to be polished up. More info on how they are spending the 24 million quarterly on R&D. Some cost cutting (even a little). Perhaps split up some of the responsibilities.

I have worked in the HDD component area for 11 years. I can tell you that S3's pricing/revenue problems are a walk in the park compared to that business segment.

Anyone else have any comments?
