Paul, sorry, I was spaced out or something and was thinking of another company I'd had dealings with in the field about the same time as TDW... Actually, I like TDW as a company and know a couple people who either work there now or used to.

Their biz picks up quite a bit when things are booming and drops off quickly when things turn... because of the nature of their core biz, that has meant in the past that their biz picks up at the beginning of oil booms offshore, often before it shows up in other data/markets/segments, but also drops off prior to any real sign of trouble offshore...

Sorry for the confusion... I plead insanity... <ggg>

Jim

>>>>...gee, that looks good to me.
1263 people have book-marked this site and I'm the only person interested in this well-known company or posting on it? As I see it, people here must be crazy or misguided. -g-
Or...it could be me. That's possible too.<<<<<

Hmmmnnn....Paul, you could be right...er, uh...or, maybe I should say wrong. Respectfully, of course. It's kinda like sayin' "depends on what the definition of 'is' is". Your post is ominous in that I have been counting on you as one of the few remaining ones to post reasonably sound prognostications (with which, I frequently disagreed, insofar as your attitude regarding the comparative values between FA/TA investing strategies) about investing in today's market. Was hoping you were still confident on how to return to th' camp-house while we all seemed to be lost in these weeds.<ggg>

Regarding craziness, I've been noticing some Ahlzy signs cropping up which I'm trying to successfully cope with....have been doing a lot of research about the disease, and also the developing science of retraining the brain as a weapon against the disease's insiduous degradation of the neurons and related cellular structures dealing with our memory and function.

On the lighter side of this OT topic, my dear wife thinks I'm crazy for thinking I'm crazy, and wants me to stop trying to keep from becoming crazy....makes me wonder...Who's crazy? So, hang tough, Paul. We'll all get over it some day, right?
