>>Reagan was pro union, just not big on goverment unions threatening to endanger lives by striking at a critical time. Unions have been dismantling themselves. Demanding large labor rates that brind down the industry. Other workers see this and vote for no union.>>

That is completely untrue. The very first thing Raygun did was destroy the air traffic controllers union. I remember very clearly when they went on strike thinking to myself: "boy, you are mamking a huge mistake, because Raygun was looking to make an example of them and intended to smash them". Which he did.

I was in politics for 30 years and it is the oldest trick in the book. Find someone to make an example of, so peopel are afraid to mess with you. Raygun picked the air trafffic controllers union and they played right into his hands.

And it made our ariways much less safe for years because of all the experienced union people who lost their jobs.

Raygun was recruited by a bunch of corporate CEO's to run for president. His kitchen cabinet. Corporations do not like unions. Over the past 30 years unions have fallen from about 35% to about 12%.

In the south most of the auto companies are non union now. Poetic justice for their voting Republican and against their own self inerest. And as such the middle class has suffered.

So what is your response to that?
