Plane Lands on NJ Turnpike During Rush Hour

...He landed in the middle of the road and then pulled off to the shoulder,"....

Untold story as I imagine it :-)
Reopening the roadway was delayed as the pilot had to cruise along the Turnpike waiting for an opening in traffic. Even though he was traveling at prevailing speed, cars kept cutting him off from either side - those on the right to get into the left lane and those on the left to immediately exit - until a New York driver came along and provided him space to pull over.

...

Actually around Cherry Hill, the NJ drivers do get quite a bit tamer, instead of cutting you off with 4 inches of clearance, they usually cut you off with 4 feet of clearance.
