Well this thread made the "hot Topics" list last week when the market was down and now we go a couple of days with no post. I think we may have it backwards. The time to be thinking about shorting SPY is when the S&P is nearing it's highs, not when its already tanked.

So, I continue to short SPY, I'm still not flat with the rest of my portfolio but I'm getting close. Each 1% the S&P rises, I Short another 100 shares.I will be flat at 98 or so. Then I have to decide if I'm going to go net short. May not get the chance to make that decision.

Karl,

How has the mechanics of trading SPY been going. Have you been able to get fast executions, fill between the spread etc.?
