As for war, we didn't steal either Iraq's or Afghanistan's oil.

Brumar, this is why we are so different. I believe that if we planned to nation build in Iraq, we damn well should have appropriated Iraq's oil to pay for the war and the nation building afterwards. Americans shouldn't have to pay one dime for it.

I don't give a rat's ass about world wide opinion when it comes to American tax dollars. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If we have to go to war to exact revenge, then let's go to destroy, not to rebuild. That is the penalty for attacking the US. But if we want to nation build, then let's make damn sure we appropriate their resources to do that job and not spend one penny of American tax payer dollars on that effort.

Do it that way and I'll guarantee you every enemy nation out there will think twice about attacking us or hosting others who would plan to carry out attacks from their soil.

I mean let's get real. We have basically broadcast to the all of our enemies that whenever we go to war, we'll spend all of our treasure to rebuild them better than they were before the war, even if it bankrupts us in the process. That is a colossally bad message to be sending.

And I don't just blame the GOP for this. The Dems are even worse. I don't mind the bleeding hearts. What I mind is that all of the bleeding hearts in this country bleed only for foreigners, but then they balk at helping Americans. What kind of self-loathing are Americans afflicted with that we think this way as a nation? It's self-destructive.
