Its understandable since the past 10 years have been up but if the market turns then the same principles apply inversely in a bear market. Caveat, of course, is "if" but if it does then GE puts will serve you the same way calls have. "if" it becomes a bear market your seem to have a winning inverse approach available. In a bull market the puts are harder to play but pay off fast if you time them right but in the bull market we have had your approach, I think, has been the right one. Just be ready to flip "if" it turns.
