Jim, ANY president (with a brain) would have spent like Bush and Obama did to stave off the Bush depression. the global economy was locked up, totally frozen.

It was spending, mostly for WWII, that pulled us out of the last depression. The consensus judgement of what was learned then was it was, the government spending that ended the last depression. It was government spending that averted this one.

Study a little non-ideological economics. You notice that Bush's team suddenly became Keynesian's when the shit hit the fan.

I don't like the way the banks and AIG were bailed out, but Obama seems to be on the case, finally.
