Chinese articulate poorly their case. Westerners cannot pin point the roots causes.

China does Gargantuan surpluses because the Chinese needs to pile up for old age.

Parents create overcapacity because they want to create businessmen that take care of them in old age.

China at the GDP per capita bracket it is in, cannot import much of the good and services of an post industrial economy.

Give you the example of Japan of the 80s. The country was an export Juggernaut. But acted as a minnow.

They did not go to Africa as the Chinese are doing. Max. they did was to open car plants in Tenessee and rollover their industry to S. East Asia.

It was their mistake: They should be by now just being Japan and living off their industrial might they constructed abroad.
