I think everyone should get off the special word nonsense. Nothing is more insulting than watching grown men and women on television saying, "b" word, "n' word etc etc Soon they will have to add letters as one just won't do. You have to differentiate between words beginning with the same letter. What are we? Are we all 3rd graders? Okay, everyone is "special" in some way. We have to stop limiting our vocabularies and creating word substitutions. If a word is meant to be derogatory, soon the new word describing the same condition will be derogatory as well. It is just insane and people who ask people to resign for saying "retarded" are just as frigging retarded as the person who said it. Whether it is conservative or liberal the language needs to be saved from these idiots. Do you think in China or Europe they use the term "N" word or "B' word? I am curious. I do recall a story about a black English secret Service type employee of the Queen who got fired. The friggin goons on our news stations and even in print referred to him as African American. He had never been to the states, yet somehow they decided all black people were African American. In South Africa they have several variations of black people with several different names. They use "colored" for instance. Can you imagine how insensitive that is? No, it isn't. Just a description. For quite a while and likely still in many places they don't identify the race of a person in television or newspaper reports because they don't want to offend minorities. So why ask the public to help find them or protect themselves from people you won't describe? Then there are the groups of people, like blacks and gays who refer to themselves as fags, queers, niggars etc, but nobody else can use the words. I can't stand watching the news and thinking it might be Sesame Street. Is Oscar a grouch or is that the "G" word now? It is all a terrible sickness.
