Remember 50 years ago how suppressed people were in Russia and China for instance. And it is instructive to study what led to that situation and the role democracies played in it ...

but I agree democracy is a vague term... maybe we have a new beginning but the signs are indeed vague if so.. Maybe we should just stick to education :O)

India is still producing about 30 percent less college graduates than the US. And the quality is not as good.And the quality of the engineering grads is worse. Only 1 in 4 engineering grads has employable skills after graduating..

China has caught up with US in the number of college grads. And is moving ahead quickly.

>So today, both China and India are educating many more people than we are. China is graduating 5 times as many engineers and India 10 times as many. India has made the export of doctors and scientists a business.>
