Good idea: <US President Barack Obama's 2011 NASA budget request will effectively terminate the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's manned space flight program. > Firing primates into space is ridiculous.

Space is suitable for robots, computers, cyberspace, electro-photonic processing, not wet chemistry bio-brains. Humans boil in space and the gamma rays are annoying too. Not to mention any particulate impacts. Plus getting back down is really hot and dangerous. Launching isn't risk-free either. Also, on long journeys, people get really tired, lonely and old, even dying of old age if heading off to a neighbouring star. And imagine arriving at the next star and finding nothing but places like Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune and Mercury - not a Bali or Hawaii in sight.

Iran isn't pushing any barriers or achieving anything in space, they are just trying to figure out how to launch atomic bombs at Israel. <while Iran is pushing barriers and making achievements in the space industry >

If Iran wants to achieve something, they could do like Globalstar and hire a launch system to fire stuff into orbit. Globalstar will be launching satellites in another few months, rebuilding the constellation which is defunct [for voice].

The reason Iran wants their own launch system is because they can't tell the Globalstar rocket builders "Please launch this satellite over there, towards Tel Aviv". They need to be able to do the aiming themselves.
