No, that's going to far. I think a lot of citizens don't want that. However, the reason they don't want that is because of the GOP spin machine. The GOP has pervasive propaganda out there to make citizens feel unsafe about the Dems moving prisoners to supermax prisons in the US, despite the fact that Bush and the GOP did just that with over 190 Islamic terrorists during his administration.

This is a classic case of playing politics instead of allowing the Dems to move us in a direction to close Gitmo. It's all really silly, but it is fooling American citizens and stopping progress. What's the point? I don't understand what the GOP has to gain by doing this, other than to be able to later say Obama didn't live up to his promise to shut Gitmo. Maybe that's the only point the GOP has. If so, I find that to be very malicious and not worthy of a once honorable party.
