That report didn't merit that type of sell off.

It wasn't exactly the report. Qualcomm's future has been just around the corner forever and it's now 2000 plus 10. The boxcar analysts have basically been ignorant to the realities and disrespectful. More recently they've herded togather and touted the "sweet spot" Q occupies in wireless which should be a huge long-term go.

And what do investors get from Qualcomm in 2010? 6% revenue growth, while many others expect to do very much better. It's not enough. Incredibly disappointing and not a perpetual hold for many investors and managers. Technically it acted awful, pancaking through indicators like it was in the market of the Fall of 2008, right out of the gate after earnings. which will obviously generate heavy selling by big holders who practically have no choice, as well as those who game it.

Of course if 2011 or 12 developments are what they ought to be and probably will be, this mid-30's interlude is a gift.
