>>I don't understand why Syquest doesn't have an external SCSI device though, and they really seem to be ignoring their following. I'm curious how they are getting prices so low. Would it have been that bad for marketing to slash the Syjet product prices, or was it not possible? Anyone have any ideas about the ratio of SCSI/Parallel drives sold?<<

Chucky -

The pricing and the lack of a SCSI model are probably related. SCSI interface components cost more. Another thing that makes SparQ cheaper is the one-platter cartridge. That's not only a 50% cost reduction for platters, but also for read/write heads, etc.

I agree with you that complacency is not a good policy for any investor. I do have some faith that Iomega's management is not complacent, and that's what really matters.
