As for Focus on the Family, the group behind the spot: They tricked us. Their clever media strategy thrust Mrs. Tebow's story into the national conversation long before the ad aired. The spot itself turned out to be their post-game celebration.

They made abortion a national subject first by getting the ad. Then didn't mention it in the ad, which consisted of a Mom telling the world she loves her boy, Tim. Then they made the folks who went ballistic in advance look like intolerant fanatics .... people were left asking what were they carrying on about?

Clever.
