Back in 1981, labor negotiations centered around the size of workers' raises."

In Germany it still does.

This morning the service workers of union 'Verdi' went on a 2 hours strike in Munich and Nuremberg airports.

Air traffic broke down.

Their boss Brski (dumb as a hang nail, try to pronounce that one!) insists on a 5% rise in the midst of a recession with a GNP drop of 7%.

"What revisionist bullshit."

Nothing revisionist about it. It is what happened.

"And there was the work hours consideration "

And that was a safety issue also. The burnout rate for ATCs was very high. Few lasted more than a year. And that meant the percentage of new ATCs was high.

Did you note that when the ATCs got replaced, their replacements worked fewer hours than before the strike?

"But basically, it was about MONEY:"

No it wasn't. Money was on the list, but it was way down. It was one of the things that they were willing to negotiate away.
