We can hardly be said to subsidize LL Bean when we buy sweaters from them at regular price.

If you spend $50 for that sweater and every other customer spends $25, then yes you could be said to be subsidizing LL Bean.

But the bottom line isn't the semantics... it's the practice of specifically not allowing the government to negotiate drug prices. Stupid.
