Hey Peter!

(Notice that you have never yet answered ANY of the questions that I *previously* posed to you concerning this one D.C. program?)

Asked several times previously....

You know... questions like 'How big is it (in dollars)?'... 'How does it rank-up next to the comprehensive national program, called "Race to the Top", that the WH is backing for all 50 States?'

('Race to the Top': implementing merit pay for teachers, and greater ease for administrators in getting rid of under-performing educators, allowing parents to pull their kids out of failing schools, and allowing school systems to close failing schools more easily, and promoting national testing standards - [used not just to measure student's gains, but also used as *one* of the tools to measure teacher's value-add]. This last bit is a new wrinkle that Bush's program never could get to....)

PS --- I'm a big fan of D.C. Chancellor Michelle Rhee, always have been... but I didn't see one word in your Post article that explained either A). How big that local pilot program was, or B). Who footed the bill for it.

Can't really say anything about it without first having the facts about it straight.
