I know that our relationship with IBM is well documented, but isn't Intel a company JMAR is also associated with in some ways? I was under the impression (based on posts from past year) that Intel was a friend, not a foe.
Can someone comment?

Keep in mind that the Intel spokesperson's comments are regarding stepper production, and not the lithography source.

Brent - The Ultratech Stepper article is about EUV lasers and steppers. The govt. is no longer funding that research, and that is why a private consortium has been developed.

From the article:
>>>However, the projects ended abruptly last year, when Congress terminated funding for Energy Department-private industry cooperative research agreements. Work on the extreme ultraviolet lithography prototype ended on Sept. 30, 1996."<<<<<

JMAR's laser-plasma X-ray lithography point source is STILL being funded by the government, and the JMAR system would cost far less than $25 million. The JMAR point source would cost about $2 million, and then you'd have to add another $7-8 million for the stepper (which would be supplied by an X-ray stepper company - SAL, for example.)
