"Virtue, however, is recognized as identical across culture, among and between individuals, through out time and circumstance regardless of the level of development for one society or another."

Time to sacrifice a baby for God, then. Time to lash a young girl for being raped. Time to be virtuous and do God's "virtuous" work.

"Virtue is lying out there, in the ether, for us to draw upon at any time, place, or circumstance"

Bald assertions redolent with superstitious nonsense.

"In the ideal forms no one disputes charity, kindness, justice, hope, and honor"

Individuals and cultures see what is "Charitable", "Kind", Just", "Honorable", and so forth in myriad subjective and relative ways. Justice for one is injustice for another. Kindness is not a wafer floating in the "ether". Kindness is what the Natives did when they left grandfather to be eaten by wolves in his infirmity and old age. And kindness was what the white trapper did who found him and got him into a nursing home. Were the two opposite colored wafers both floating in the "ether"? Were the wafers composed of "ether", as well--or were they physical substance and capable of incorporation or digestion or whatever??
