Whoa!!! IMO, there are some fundamentally, and fatally, flawed opinions in that article

Unbelievable that this drivel was written by a person who is a defense analyst at the Air Force Research Institute. Are we actually paying this clueless guy?

And The New York Times published this as an op-ed? Whoa indeed...

Unfortunately, I think your summary is completely accurate.

But if nothing else that story does illustrate the power of magical thinking. I suspect there will be more of that as this story moves to a climax.
