Actually, I was trying to look at it from the Mother's point of view. I think most kids know someone who has been in the Children's aid. I think they realise that many unwanted kids face a life of poverty, hardship and abuse. Children from an extremely religious background know that an unwanted pregnancy is not going to produce love and understanding but rather shunning and banishment, for both mother and child.

All of those things are avoided in simple black and white terms by an early abortion. Until all of the above problems are cured, abortion will continue to be an option that women will consider.

So I would challenge you to abandon this Moralizing and instead work to create options. Frankly if i were a young woman and had to face living in abject poverty, going to foodbanks and living in poverty for 10 or 20 years, or having an abortion, getting an education, keeping my family, and my religion. The choice would not be a hard one to make.
