New alliance a threat to DST development? biz.yahoo.com Sounds like these three are a little peeved about their place in the tape business, and decided that to supplant the field, they should invent a new format. Is this strategy primarily directed at Quantum's successful DLT business of late? Will this strategy work? And if it does, will it have the side effect of squeezing out DST? Or could there be a plus side - are there any patents left in play that Ampex would be able to enforce from a development such as this? (Just what we all want, another extended litigation!) All thoughts welcome. Thanks in advance, William
