It's hard to reconcile the ideal with the reality when it comes to health care, no matter what your political alignment is.

By the way, I'm all for a very basic "public option." It's not going to reduce costs, and it's not going to give the same level of benefits as most private plans, but at least it will ensure that people don't needlessly die because they couldn't afford to see a doctor until it became too late.
