I thought that was the avowed goal of the GOP ever since the early days of the Reagan administration? You know: RUN DEFICITS and NATIONAL DEBT so very high that the government gets 'strangled like a baby in the bathwater'.... Only this policy has had more then 30 years to work and it HASN'T worked yet. All we have to show for it is the massive accumulation of more national debt, and chronic, ultimately unsustainable federal deficits, and the government is no smaller then when these deficits were started....
