Also my experience. I've been on jobs where safety harnesses were mandatory. They bind and hang up, restricting motion. One is then tied to things it might be wiser to jump away from in an emergency. It gives a false sense of security. It does give the guy on the ground making the rules (who never did the job) a warm fuzzy feeling, so there's some good in it.

There are situations in which I want a harness and to be tied off. I preferred to be the one making that determination.
