Good point, Larry. There are some tipoffs in business plans. For example, Agouron sought to become an integrated pharma, and bought chemistry company, Alanex.

ArQule, on the other hand has more than fifteen collaborations, and would have to construct major fire walls if it should merge with another company. Plainly, mergers are not compatible with their course unless they are the acquirer. The same logic would take out Aurora. An undernoticed platform-type company is Sibia.

That's the principle: does it help anyone pick a candidate?
