Jim, you cling on to your antiquated ideas and questionable facts like a dog with his bone. why?

I live in southeast Alaska and we are a full two months early in our spring. Average temperature for Barrow for Feb 13 is -10, not - 2. 8 degrees is quite a bit warmer.

I'll bet you a cyber beer the old 2007 historic arctic ice melt is surpassed this year.

And as I've noted before, the Arctic is and has been in a relative heat wave, @ 20 degrees F above normal. Look here, and scroll down to third map for the anomaly. Been this way 'most all winter.

In Alaska we reach our coldest days on average on Jan 18 to 21. Alaska has been quite warm this year.

It has to be said that lugers as a group are a bit nuts considering they go at speeds of 80+ MPH on a sled. I mean at those speeds how good is a safety helmet?
