I sold my gnma's. Not much (if any) upside from here. I was reinvesting the dividends but didn't really want to buy more shares at these prices. I always figure that if I wouldn't 'buy' at a certain price, maybe I should 'sell'.

Rate (on gnma) down to a little over 3%. It doesn't seem likely (surprise) but if mortgage rates rise, or look like they may rise, gnma won't take long to drop.

Since you can't sell during the day and when you do sell you don't know how much you sold for till it's over I decided to sell. Around $10.60's. Av cost per share about $10.30.

You can find 2% cds pretty easy. 1% less than gnma with zero risk.

That's "attractive" to me.

I2, As I told rsei, I recently closed out my allocation to VNGD- TIPS, and put 50% of the proceeds in each of VNGD ST Inv Grade Bond Fund, and, VNGD High Yield Bond Fund. That move lowered the net average maturity somewhat and thus lowered my risk from rising interest rates. It's a dicey environment and I'm weary of the default risk in the High Yield Bond Fund that tanked during the fall 2008 debt crisis.

Best wishes,

P
