The students separate into different tracks after the sixth class or 11-12 years old. Some kids have the option to go into the higher track after the fourth class.

While it is not easy to go from the second track back onto the higher track and then on to university, people tell me that it does happen. Kids that are slow starters eventually find their way in the system. Kids on the lowest track have limited options.
