I wonder how many will wait till holiday 2010 to see if Win Mobile 7 is more than vaporware?

That is sort of like asking how many people will wait for the iPhone 4G when you can go out and buy an Android handset today. The question doesnt mean much, there will be plenty of potential customers if Apple or Microsoft executes. Outside of the Xbox, this is the first time in a very long time that Microsoft seems to have done something fairly innovative that will actually hit the market in a reasonable amount of time.

Microsoft needed a home run, and while it is impossible to say whether they have managed to hit one today, it is at least a possibility. It will come down to the execution and also what Apple has up their sleeve. I find it hard to believe that they arent going to push the envelope on both the software and hardware side for their next iPhone update. You can only keep everything the same for so long before it becomes stale.
