I didn't collect any of that nice green.) Collectively though (even adding ALL the money in 'cash for clunkers' and 'cash for caulkers' together), didn't that add up to just a small fraction of the Bush cash rebates? (At least with new cars and caulked homes we get a 'gift that keeps on giving' for a while --- a smidge more energy efficiency in our economy and a bit more energy security.... :-)

Yup, but cash for shacks was not where most of stimulus money went, and the total appears to be a whole lot bigger. That's a lot of stuff to go through - and a lot of money. These amounts can easily make the country go BK. The main agency that did it was, of course, the Fed, which is not accountable to US Congress and does not respond to FOIA requests. Most of it was done under W, so can't blame Obama, it was not all him. But he did contribute to the part of the bailout that American Citizen got, and started cutting the other part -g- sitemason.com
