Windows 7 has to be 2x as good to gain share.

And there is plenty of negative backlash over the years towards Microsoft. Geeks still might like softie but lots of people don't trust them. People aren't locked in on the phones, like they were on windows... unless they are using the iPhone/Apps.

This is a different game.

It looks like they did one thing right. They pared down the interface to its essentials. The home screen isn't especially appealing, but the built-in apps look nice. [edit] I just watched the video on gizmodo, and I'd say they did a lot of things right. Kudos to them.

My prediction is that the iPhone will continue to roll, Android will gain market share, and Blackberries will be popular with people who like them already.

Other smartphone operating systems will be also-rans.

I've read that it doesn't multitask. Gee, I wonder when the bloggers are going to start tearing into this little detail ;)
