The mob used to fix horse races for Hoover. Ike had somethng like 56 mafia chieftons under investigation and 18 months into JFK's presidency Bobby Kennedy had 2600, as I remember. Bobby Kennedy had put Hoffa away and was about to go after Hoover. Then JFK get murdered and mob related Jack Ruby kills Oswald. Those are the dots I have always connected. Ike did nothing about Macarthy, or Hoover or the mob and only warned us about the military industrial complex as he was leaving office. What kind of president was that? We should have elected Adlai Steveneson!
