Aha, I see, now you make an interesting point here and present an intriguingly different perspective than I've ever considered, and it makes excellent sense in the longer term overview, it actually brings it together very neatly... then, the collapse of the communist block was a double edged sword... the failure of the communist experiment removed the borders and allowed global money, much like water, to flow to the least expensive means of utility...

From this view, it would seem that the financial problems the world is facing today is inevitable as a byproduct of the communist collapse and that the the U.S. economy has no honest way out except to go through more aggravating times as the global economic conditions and currencies continue to contract and weaken...
