I thought your opposition to Gays in the military was religiously based. Nothing wrong with that. But this will be a secular decision, based on what is best for the country on a secular basis.

I am reading lots of emails today about Israel's IDF and how well gays perform there.

I believe all of that. What the writers don't understand is the Israelis have no choice about serving in the defense of their country. The IDF is all draftees.

Make the US Army draft based and you can conduct social experiments. But our army is already too fragile and doesn't need another burden right now.
