My fault, sorry.

I bought an Android.

(you're supposed to clap at this point because I had the willpower to admit it)

When Verizon (or maybe T Mobile) has an iPhone, at the end of contract I'll probably switch.

>>Of course Android's rate of growth could be larger, just like Apple's was in the first couple of years of the iPhone. That happens when one starts from zero.<<

There's also the fact that several different companies are making phones that use the Android OS. These phones differ widely in terms of their actual abilities, but they are all "Android phones."

As we all know, Apple is the only company that makes iPhones. So if we were to say "Apple shipped 90,000 + iPhones per day last quarter," it would literally be true. Saying "Google shipped x number of Android phones last quarter" is actually incorrect, since Google didn't ship any phones.

Also, if we wanted to talk about the number of "iPhone OS" devices that shipped per day last quarter, it would be a larger number than that. Larger than the number of phones RIMM shipped.
