I don't know where you are getting your information. (Actually it is more like not bothering to get information.) Obama's books were ghost written by Bill Ayers. Ayers has admitted it even if Obama has yet to. That is fact. Your desire to see Obama as literate despite the evidence does not change fact.

The one thing that can win Obama the Presidency in 2012 is if he gets all of the opponents disqualified. Perhaps instead he could have Hillary as a running mate. Her propensity to have politically inconvenient people turn up dead might eliminate the need to legally disqualify opponents. Obama's problem then would be staying alive after she was sworn in as VP.

I suspect the "intelligent" "conservative" people you associate with are what many would call cosmopolitan. I know several like that. They think they are smarter than they are. Often they are kids of the rich who never were able to earn the kind of money people think they do based on their spending habits.

I had a conversation with a man last night who claims to be brilliant. He is conservative in many measures. On the subject of Sarah Palin he repeats the lines that those who fear her use to denigrate her. I didn't hear anything from him who couldn't have been cut and pasted from democrat / liberal media talking points.

Listen to her. If you can listen to Governor Palin and not hear her intelligence then you certainly can't think the guy whose chief skill is reading a teleprompter is smart.

This new guard of neocon GOP makes me sick, because it is too extreme

Are you talking about actual politicians who hold offices with some real power, or bloggers, protesters, radio talk show hosts, etc.

If the later, sure some of them are extreme, but people have always spouted extreme opinions. If the former, how are they extreme?
