Yes, but that's why we have separation of powers. If Obama doesn't like what a GOP Congress comes up with, he can veto it. That would force compromise and co-operation.

I would have preferred that the Democrats were able to get some key priorities done unilaterally, like renewable energy. But having watched them waste a year on health care and still not being able to get it done, I'm at the end of my limits of patience. It makes me think the Dems aren't capable of getting things done in Congress, because they lack the spine to crack the whip on their wayward members. So let's get a party known for it's party discipline in there, which would be the GOP. It might shake things up a bit and move us toward progress, rather than this horrible gridlock we have now.
