yeah, no question the GOP is doing some despicable things as well. I have no idea why they go on and on about deficits and then vote against a Congressional commission that can force the kinds of changes we need.

I suspect two things: 1) they don't want to abide by a neutral commission that will most likely come back with a combination of spending cuts and tax hikes. 2) they actually want the deficits to continue and get bigger under Obama, so they can blame the Dems for fiscal irresponsibility, so they can return to power soon.

Either explanation is morally bankrupt, but I do suspect it's a combination of both that is motivating the hypocrisy we see within the GOP about the deficits right now.

So how do you solve it? Put the GOP in charge of Congress, leaving Obama as President with veto power. Then this mess goes right back to the GOP and they can explain to Americans why they are unable to make the hard choices to solve these problems...or maybe they'll bite the bullet and fix the mess they helped create.

Either way, that is good for Americans in the long run. It will help American finally see what's real and what's just GOP propaganda.
