>>It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Many other iPhone advantages would be more important to me.<<

That's my thinking as well. Some people talk about the lack of Flash as if the web experience on the iPhone (or iPad) is all there is. Web access is a big part of what I love about my iPhone. And on the rare occasions when I run into a site that relies so much on Flash that it's unusable on the iPhone, that's a drag.

But there is so much more to the experience of owning and using an iPhone every day that Flash just doesn't make that much difference to me. Others may reasonably disagree.

My first impression on those is usually "another idiot talked into a flash website by a slick talkin' designer" one step down from a used car salesman.

Flash was a great medium for delivering content in a small package during a time where better technology didn't exist. It had a great scripting language and was easy to use once you got past the initial learning curve.

Now there are better technologies coming along but I wouldn't kick Adobe for pushing Flash when they did.

I could be equally negative about Apple for some of it's business decisions of late including releasing a new Monitor that only supports new hardware which told last generation owners of Macbook Pros that we just made your system obsolete or if you want an external monitor buy our 30 inch or go elsewhere.

I know several people that have pre 2009 Macbook Pro's that want Apple solutions and now can't get them.

Since youtube runs in HTML5 now I can't see any reason I'd need Flash on a mobile.

Youtube videos are still being served in Flash format.
