It is now time for the President to step in and be very assertive with both the parties. If they fail, then the people should be ready for the massacre at the 2010 polls. Just boot out the incumbents and send them packing. They've done that twice so far.....2006 and 2008. How well is that working out for everyone? The divisions in Congress simply reflect the divisions in this country. I as an individual am no different. There is a sizable minority in this country whose positions on life I can't tolerate. I think their views are based more on religious hocus pocos and personal biases than reasoned and intelligent thinking. Worse.....this minority acts as if its the majority....speaking out loudly while trying to drown out the rest of us. I don't want my reps. catering to the reps of these people. I refuse to endorse their lifestyle. I have said it before and I will say it again....this country is in the worse internal mess since the Civil War. The divisions between us are nearly as great. How anyone can expect their leaders to be oblivious to those divisions is a mystery to me. And to expect that our leaders should overcome those divisions in some magical way is crazy thinking as far as I am concerned. As I see it, this country has two very likely outcomes....the Union starts to break down and we become the Yugoslavia of North America, or a strong leader aka a dictator forces us to stay together. Take your pick. A third possibility...that we will all learn to live and work together.......I consider to be a pipedream.
