Obviously they've figured out what they can buy cheap in advance and what is better to buy extremely short term.

Yep with the buying power of Apple they can make or break a market.

Guess this fact is part of the reason Apple has it's huge war chest of cash!

Between the lines it shows just how tight Apple is with it's supply chain.

I like the secrecy part. While the rest of the world releases vaporware to get publicity Apple tries to keep everything secret and gets 100X the press coverage. Clearly demonstrates weakness vs. strength.
