That wasn't domestic terror. That was a single act of targeted revenge. It just goes to show that liberals can be dangerous.

There are a lot of people who have been solicited to join groups of folks who think they don't have to pay taxes. It isn't a political party or even political people. Just fast money people who irresponsible lawyers tell them federal income tax is voluntary. I remember counseling some people not to be confused by their message but I have no idea if they listened. The proposed reward is too high for them. The fast money, too fast. Many people end up blowing the money that should have went for taxes and end up bankrupted, but the IRS fees, penalties and back taxes are not discharged.

Sad, very sad that a man would do all that. He even is suspect for setting his house on fire before leaving to get the plane. Yes, set it afire with his wife and child inside.

It's not only Muslims who commit acts of domestic terrorism.

Was the Ft Hood shooting an act of domestic terrorism?

Radio ads slamming Arkansas Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln began airing in her state this week. But the ads weren't sponsored by her Republican rivals. They were paid for by a left-leaning environmental organization.

Ms. Lincoln has tried to carve out a role for herself as a centrist Democrat only to take heavy fire from both liberals and conservatives—a squeeze that has driven her poll numbers down from mediocre to woeful.

.Her plight has national party activists nervous at a time when a number of Democratic senators have either declined to run again, as was the case this week with Evan Bayh of Indiana, or appear to have only a tenuous hold on their seats.

Running for a third term, Ms. Lincoln trails two leading Republican contenders by roughly 20 percentage points, according to two recent polls in which her disapproval ratings hovered around 60%.

Las Vegas Mayor Goodman rejects Obama invitation

Updated: Feb 19, 2010 12:19 AM CST

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - Mayor Oscar Goodman refused an invitation to meet with President Obama who is in Las Vegas to host a town hall meeting. Mayor Goodman called President Obama a slow learner after he told Americans not to blow money on a weekend in Las Vegas if they were saving to put their kids through college.

"I've got other things to do quite frankly for my constituents here in Las Vegas who rely on me to do the right thing as a mayor," explained Mayor Goodman.

Mayor Goodman has more important things like attend budget meetings during a major shortfall than meet with President Barack Obama. That rejection comes even though he's invited by the White House.

"Were you surprised to get that invitation in light of comments you've made before and your opinion on him and what he says," asked Action News reporter Heather Klein.

"A little bit in the sense [that] I would think they would know that I would say I'm not coming," said Mayor Goodman.

They say time heals all wounds but not this time. Mayor Goodman is not backing down after the president used Las Vegas the example of where not to go if you're saving money.

This is strike two for the mayor.

"We are hurting, we have people in foreclosures, we have people having a hard time feeding their families and we can't stand to have a flippant statement made," said Mayor Goodman.

"I haven't heard an apology, I haven't heard a response, all I do is get invitations," Goodman went on to say.

Invitations Mayor Oscar Goodman respectfully or depending on your point of view, not so respectfully declines. The mayor says his presence isn't necessary, it's more protocol than anything else. However, he says all it will take is a simple phone call and he will be there ready to move on.

What do you think about Mayor Goodman rejecting to meet with President Obama? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

Right on Mr. Mayor. For a slow learner Obama is also
arrogant and needs to be taught humility. We will be visiting your city again for our yearly vacation.

Total gross U.S. debt is now $50 trillion or 12 times the nation's total gross income, according to Ortel, whose debt calculation excludes unfunded mandates such as Social Security and Medicaid but does include corporate debt which he says are "potentially eligible for bailouts."

Furthermore, Ortel says the Federal Reserve overestimates U.S. household net worth, because most of the "asset" side of the ledger is based on real estate valuations he says are overinflated.

"A strict, hard look at the national net worth statement will tell you that our assets are lower than you think and our debt is higher than you think," he says.
