One of the benefits of a strong el Nino. It is great for y'all, except for maybe Vancouver. And there are fewer hurricanes in the Atlantic. Cooler, wetter summers here are a great change. What sucks is I can't put out tomatoes until next month. At the earliest. OTOH, lettuce can be planted without going bitter and bolting almost immediately.


I was thinking of growing tomatoes from seed....not really but it sounded good in theory for a couple of days. <g> I planted lettuce and carrots last weekend and may do some tomatoes starts inside and put them out in late March. Really get a jump on the tomato season.

It is a mixed bag for California. Little chance of wild fires, which is good. Greater chance of mud slides, which is bad.

CA has been suffering from drought for years. Despite the mudslides, I suspect they are pretty happy with all the water.
