I agree, but don't forget about the other factor --> the Military Industrial Complex (MIC). They thrive on war, so they may be pushing for a war with Iran too. It's gotten to the point where the MIC seems to make foreign policy. It also plays into protecting American vital interests (i.e. oil) in the Persian Gulf.

I wonder what our forefathers would think of what the U.S. has become? I saw some Army promo piece before a movie where they tried to draw a comparison between American Minute Men fighting the British during the Revolutionary War and service in the Iraq War today. The only problem is that anyone who actually has a brain can come to the realization that the message is backwards, we are the modern British empire builders in Iraq (like the British were in North American in the 18th century) and the Iraqi resistance are the Minute Men of their country trying to fight off an imperial foreign power. If anything, the Iraqis have more of a justification since the U.S. never had any legitimate claim on Iraq, while the British did have a claim on parts of North America since they settled the areas that were rebelling.
