Actually a majority of the founding fathers wanted slavery to end ... they just didn't think of a way to make it happen. Even the minority of them who owned slaves, hated the institution.

That's for sure! They were just making too much money off of other peoples pain and suffering.

It's the GOP who are the ones who have been against every major social improvement in our history. The GOP was against civil rights for blacks and for women. Does that make you proud? Now you are against civil rights for gays.

What it boils down to is Taliban-like intolerance. There is no place for that kind of hatred and intolerance in a country as great as ours.
